ALWAGHT- The 3rd Caspian Economic Forum commenced in Tehran on Tuesday, February 18.
Representatives from the six Caspian states are attending the conference, including high-ranking officials. Key participants include Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, and Tajikistan’s Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda.
The forum features multiple expert panels with officials from the participating nations discussing economic and regional cooperation. In his address, the Iranian vice president emphasized the importance of neighborly relations and called for collective efforts to strengthen ties. He reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to progress despite sanctions and highlighted the strategic role of neighboring countries in its foreign policy.
Aref also underscored Iran’s growing regional engagement, pointing to its membership in the Eurasian Economic Union and the recent free trade agreement with the bloc as significant steps toward enhancing economic cooperation.
