Iran Accuses Israeli PM of Using UN Speech to Hide Crimes

ALWAGHT- Iran’s UN envoy dismissed the Israeli prime minister’s claims as unfounded, cautioning that the regime’s unchecked aggression threatens regional stability and must be halted.

Iran’s UN representative used the right of reply to condemn Israeli Prime Minister’s address, calling it baseless and illegitimate. The statement criticized Israel for systemic aggression, occupation, apartheid, and repeated wars across the region, describing its presence at the UN as a disgrace to the institution’s mission of peace, justice, and humanity.

The speech accused Israel of committing extensive violence in Gaza and the West Bank, killing over 65,000 Palestinians and wounding nearly 180,000 in two years, while using starvation, forced displacement, and attacks on journalists as tools of war. Tehran also highlighted Israel’s cross-border assassinations and other aggressions in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran, and Qatar.

Addressing a June 2025 attack on Iran, the statement said Israeli actions killed more than 1,000 Iranian civilians, scientists, and officials, violating the UN Charter and international law. Iran rejected all Israeli claims about its nuclear program, emphasizing that the IAEA has confirmed no diversion of nuclear material and that US intelligence also does not view Iran as pursuing a bomb. Tehran contrasted this with Israel’s clandestine nuclear arsenal, which it described as the real regional threat.

The statement warned that if Israel is left unchecked, it could escalate conflicts across the region. It called on the UN and member states to act decisively, reaffirmed Iran’s support for Palestinian self-determination and resistance, and stressed Iran’s commitment to defend its territory, people, and vital interests against aggression.
