ALWAGHT- Russia’s Foreign Ministry rejected recent US media assertions that Moscow backs a US-proposed nuclear deal demanding Iran’s “zero enrichment,” labeling the reports a “dirty politicized campaign.”
In an official statement released Sunday, the Russian Foreign Ministry dismissed the report titled “Scoop: Putin Urges Iran to Take Zero Enrichment Nuclear Deal with US” as a politicized misinformation effort aimed at heightening tensions over Iran’s nuclear program.
The US news outlet Axios had reported on Saturday, citing unnamed sources, that Russian President Vladimir Putin encouraged Iran to agree to a deal with the US that would require “zero enrichment” on Iranian soil.
Reaffirming its long-held stance, the ministry stressed that any resolution regarding Iran’s nuclear program must be reached through diplomatic negotiations. Russia remains committed to supporting a negotiated agreement that satisfies all parties involved.
The statement concluded with a call for responsible journalism, urging media organizations to rely on official sources, thoroughly investigate issues, and avoid spreading false information.
