ALWAGHT- Praising BRICS, the Iranian foreign minister acknowledged their condemnation of the Israeli regime’s hostile actions against Iran.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed gratitude for BRICS’ strong and clear condemnation of recent Israeli and US military attacks on Iranian civilian infrastructure and nuclear sites, emphasizing that these actions violate international law. He highlighted the significance of the BRICS summit in Rio, where countries representing 40% of global GDP and nearly half the world’s population are witnessing major economic and political shifts.
Araghchi is attending the 17th BRICS summit in Brazil, where the group—comprising eleven developing countries including Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Iran—serves as a platform for political and diplomatic coordination among Global South nations.
BRICS aims to strengthen economic, political, and social cooperation among its members while increasing the influence of Global South countries in global governance. The group works to enhance the legitimacy and efficiency of international institutions like the UN, IMF, World Bank, and WTO, and promotes sustainable development and social inclusion worldwide.
