Alwaght- Syrian Army has recaptured the key town of Maskanah in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, expelling ISIS terrorist group from the northwestern province.
The town of Maskanah is located on the western banks of the Lake Assad in Aleppo province some 10 km from the provincial border with Raqqa.
According to a military source in Aleppo, the ISIS terrorist withdrew from Maskanah and its surrounding villages after losing much of the high ground overlooking the town.
The operation to liberate Maskanah was led by the Syrian Arab Army’s elite Tiger Forces; the main unit carrying out the east Aleppo offensive this year.

Syrian army backed by popular forces have stepped up attacks on ISIS terrorists on several fronts in recent weeks as a "de-escalation" deal brokered by Russia, Iran and Turkey has reduced fighting in western Syria.
Over the course past week, Syrian Army has managed to recapture 22 villages near Makanah and eliminated more than 1,200 ISIS terrorists.
With Maskanah under their control, the Syrian Arab Army will now shift their attention to the eastern countryside of Hama, where they hope to expel ISIS from central Syria once and for-all.
Syrian army announced yesterday its forces have established control over a mountainous territory to the east of the road linking Damascus to Aleppo.
The army said it had captured the northeastern and central portions of a mountain range to the east of the Khanaser-Ithriya road. "It certainly widens the circle of security around the Damascus-Aleppo road," a military source told Reuters.
The Khanaser-Ithriya road is the only government-controlled route linking Aleppo to other government-held cities of western Syria. Sections of the main highway to Aleppo, which runs through western Syria, remain in rebel hands.
