Alwaght- Syrian forces have repelled terrorist groups that infiltrated north of Jobar on the eastern outskirts of Damascus city.
On Tuesday afternoon Syrian troops tightened the noose on the infiltrating terrorist groups, which are affiliated to Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, formerly known as al-Nusra Front, in the surroundings of the factories area, hitting gatherings of terrorists and their movements deep in Jobar neighborhood.
According to the Syrian news agency, the army units repelled an attack launched by terrorists of Jabhat Fateh al-Sham and other groups affiliated to it on Maghazel al-Naseej area (the textile factories), north of Jobar neighborhood.
The army units engaged in fierce clashes with the infiltrating terrorist groups, SANA reported, adding that the army has embarked on cleansing the area after the terrorists were hemmed in.
Earlier, army units thwarted an attack by Jabhat Fateh al-Sham -linked terrorist groups in the direction of the Electricity Company and the factories area to the north of Jobar.
The Army’s Artillery also hit positions of the terrorist organizations in al-Qaboun neighborhood that were firing shells and sniper bullets on al-Abbassiyeen area and other residential neighborhoods in Damascus.
Terrorist groups targeted with rocket shells Masaken Barzeh and al-Shaghour neighborhoods, leaving 15 civilians injured.
Syria blames Western countries, the Israeli regime and their allies in the region namely Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar for being behind the seven-year old conflict in the country.
The foreign-backed terrorists in Syria have killed hundreds of thousands and displaced millions throughout the country since the conflict began in 2011.
