Alwaght- During a recent clash with the Iraqi national army, the ISIS terrorists have used chemical weapons, the Sky News Arabia reported on Sunday.
ISIS terrorists initiated a counter offense against the advancing forces of the Iraqi national army in southern Mosul and used mustard gas to hinder their advancements, the report said.
The report quoted some unnamed Kurdish source in security agencies as saying the ISIS terrorists used the chemical weapon on Sunday.
The Iraqi national army along with police forces and volunteer units, initiated a comprehensive operation on 17 October to liberate Mosul from ISIS domination.
Iraq’s second largest city fell to the terrorists in 2014 and has been regarded a stronghold for the group since then. It is now considered the last terrorist stronghold in the country and liberating it could mean a victory over the terrorist group in the country.
According to the Iraqi military, some 5,000 to 6,000 terrorists are holding the city while there have been report on their efforts to forcefully relocate families from neighboring villages to use as civilian defense against the Iraqi army.
