ALWAGHT- The spokesperson for the Islamic Republic of Iran Army has urged Qatar to provide a clear explanation regarding the fate of three Iranian pilots who went missing during the Ramadan war.
Iranian Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia said the issue dates back to March 12, when two Iranian Air Force Sukhoi jets reportedly carried out an operation against a US base in Qatar. He said both aircraft were shot down by enemy air patrols while returning from the mission.
According to Akraminia, the body of one pilot, identified as Majid Kazemi, was recovered and returned to Iran for burial in Shiraz. However, because each aircraft had two pilots, the fate of the other three crew members remains unknown.
He said Iran has pursued the matter through its Foreign Ministry, presidency, Army Headquarters, and direct contacts with Qatar’s government and military. Despite these efforts, Doha has said it has no information about the missing pilots.
Akraminia urged Qatar to treat the issue more seriously and intensify efforts to determine their fate. He called on Doha to provide a clear, documented response and any available evidence concerning the missing pilots.
