Alwaght- Suicide bombers hit two different parts of Iraq killing at least 11 people on Sunday, the al-Masdar news site reported on Sunday.

The first attacker detonated an ambulance packed with explosives in Tikrit, hometown of the dead Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. The attack left nine people dead and some others injured, police and hospital sources said.

The attack happened when the southern entrance to the city was busy with buses waiting for their passengers.

Authorities declared a curfew in the city, saying they had information that further attacks were possible.

In another incident, a suicide bomber detonated his car loaded with explosives in the Samarra city, south of Tikrit.

The bomber targeted a vehicle carrying Shiite pilgrims who were visiting the city’s al-Askari mosque.

Two of the pilgrims died at the scene.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks but the ISIS terrorist group has been known for carrying out such attack on Iraqi people.

The violence come at a time when Iraqi national army and volunteer forces have launches a comprehensive operation to liberate the northern city of Mosul that fell to the ISIS in 2014 and is considered the group’s last stronghold in the country.
