Iran Nabs Five Suspected ISIS Terrorists

Alwaght- Iranian security forces have arrested at least five people who had planned terrorist attacks in the country, the intelligence minister has revealed.

Speaking on Tuesday, Mahmoud Alavi  added that  those arrested are affiliated with terrorist groups and planned to carry out their attacks during the Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Destiny) (June 24, 26, 28) and International Quds Day (July 1) during the Holy Month of Ramadan but “they were identified and arrested one after another in different cities.”

Alavi added that, “these groups are mostly linked to the Takfiri ISIS terrorist group,” he added.

Iran's Intelligence Minister underlined that security forces have located several houses used for making bombs and suspects arrested.

He further pointed out that the apprehended terrorists have given information which will lead to the arrest of more terrorists and their associates. Iran's Intelligence Minister reassured Iranians by saying that terrorists will not be allowed to deal "the least harm” to the county’s security and people.

Two week ago Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, the commander of the Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps  IRGC Ground Forces said terrorists arrested in Iran last week have admitted to obtaining support from the US and Saudi Arabia. Pakpour also warned that the enemy is seeking to cause ethnic conflict among Iranians as a means of dividing them.

In earlier remarks, Pakpour had said that the IRGC forces had engaged in clashes with two terrorist groups in the country’s northwest near the border with Iraq, killing a number of terrorists.
