Alwaght- A Syrian Army spokesman says that 1662 terrorist targets were destroyed during army’s airstrikes against the sites of terrorist organizations in the countryside of Damascus, Homs, Hama, Idleb, Aleppo and Deir Ezzor.
The spokesman was quoted by the country's official news agency SANA as saying that since the 27th of December, the Syrian Air Force carried out 481 sorties and destroyed 1662 terrorist targets including a command center with all terrorists inside it, 3 armored vehicles and a rocket launcher in al-Latamiana, Maarkaba,al-Tamaniaa and Akrab in Hama.
In Idleb, 4 terrorists’ positions, a factory for manufacturing explosive devices, a fortified position and number of heavy-equipped vehicles were destroyed during the sorties and dozens of terrorists were killed.
The spokesman said that army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, continued operations and advanced in many areas taking advantage of the Russian and Syrian airstrikes.
He said that army launched early this month a wide military operation in the northern countryside of Daraa, establishing control over more than 60% of al-Sheikh Maskyn city and the areas surrounding it, including Tal al-Hash and all the 82nd brigade camp.
Elsewhere on Wednesday, the Syrian army said terrorist groups in are losing more of their militants, weapons and equipment, including vehicles with machine guns mounted on them, in the course of the army’s continued operations in different areas across the country.
It has been four years since a civil war broke out in Syria. Hundreds of thousands have been killed in the brutality of extremist terrorist groups such as ISIS and the Al-Nusra Front in Iraq and Syria…Millions of others displaced from their homes. The United Nations says the number of the Syrian war refugees reached 7.6 million by the end of 2015, of who 4.27 million have sought and will seek refuge in other countries.
The Syrian government blames the United States along with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and the Israeli regime for backing terrorist groups inside the country.
