ALWAGHT- In response to baseless accusations by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, Iran’s Foreign Ministry summoned the French chargé d’affaires.
In response to offensive remarks and baseless allegations made by the French foreign minister against Iran, the French chargé d’affaires in Tehran was summoned by the Iranian Foreign Ministry to receive an official protest.
During the meeting, Mohammad Tanhaei, Director of the Second Western Europe Division at the Foreign Ministry, strongly condemned the French minister’s statements, labeling them as a clear interference in Iran’s internal affairs. He described the accusations as provocative and irresponsible, calling on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide an official explanation.
Tanhaei also criticized the French government for using a cultural event as a vehicle to promote political agendas against Iran. He further asserted that France, as a key supporter of the Zionist regime and its ongoing, severe violations of human rights—particularly in regard to the Palestinian people's right to self-determination—holds no moral ground to make human rights claims or issue accusations against other nations.
