ALWAGHT- Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, underscored Pakistan's prominent role in the Islamic world and called for coordinated and effective efforts between Iran and Pakistan to halt the Zionist regime's actions in Gaza.
During an official visit to Tehran, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Ayatollah Khamenei, who welcomed the easing of tensions between Pakistan and India and praised Pakistan’s consistent stance on the Palestinian issue. The Leader commended Pakistan for resisting external pressure to normalize ties with the Zionist regime, highlighting the country’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause despite regional and international trends.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the urgent need for unity among Muslim nations, particularly in response to the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He criticized certain Islamic governments for siding with Israel amid widespread global protests and emphasized the influential role Iran and Pakistan could play together in redirecting the Palestinian issue onto a more just and effective path.
The Leader also described Iran-Pakistan ties as historically warm but underdeveloped in recent years. He called for expanded cooperation across economic, political, and cultural fields, including efforts to revitalize the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). Prime Minister Sharif expressed appreciation for Iran’s positive regional role and voiced hope that the visit would lead to stronger, more comprehensive bilateral relations.
