Iran’s Foreign Minister Demands Justice for Mazar-i-Sharif Diplomats

ALWAGHT- Iran’s Foreign Ministry vowed to bring to justice those responsible for the 1998 terrorist attack on the country’s Consulate General in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan, which claimed the lives of eight Iranian diplomats and a journalist.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Saturday marked the 28th anniversary of the killing of eight Iranian diplomats and an IRNA correspondent in the 1998 terrorist attack on Iran’s Consulate General in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan.

The ministry described the attack as a heinous crime and a blatant violation of diplomatic and consular rights, stressing that the passage of time does not diminish its gravity.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry called for the perpetrators and masterminds behind the attack to be identified and brought to justice, pledging to pursue the matter through every available avenue.
