ALWAGHT- Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf held talks on the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel, Iran’s economic difficulties, and legislative efforts to tackle domestic concerns.
Iran’s Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, met with Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf to review developments in the ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel, as well as the country’s economic and domestic challenges. The discussions highlighted the need to strengthen national capabilities, encourage public participation and enhance the role of parliament.
The meeting also focused on closer coordination between the government and parliament to address economic difficulties, corruption, inflation and rising prices. Ghalibaf briefed the Leader on legislative activities since the outbreak of what Iranian officials call the “third imposed war,” along with plans to tackle the country’s domestic concerns.
Ayatollah Khamenei has previously urged lawmakers and government officials to cooperate more closely in addressing livelihood issues and improving economic conditions. He also emphasized using parliament’s capabilities to combat corruption and control rising costs.
Meanwhile, Ghalibaf said Iran was pursuing military action and negotiations simultaneously to establish lasting deterrence and secure its demands. He argued that Washington had underestimated Iran’s capabilities, adding that the United States must change its conduct and accept the demands of the Iranian people.
