ALWAGHT- Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has warned that any attack on the country’s sovereignty would prompt a forceful retaliation, stressing that Tehran will not yield to threats of full-scale conflict or targeted killings.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned on Sunday that any violation of Iran’s territorial integrity would trigger a response beyond the enemy’s imagination. He stressed that threats of full-scale war or assassination would not force the Iranian nation to abandon its rights and national interests.
Ghalibaf accused the United States of becoming trapped in a crisis through its miscalculations and what he described as an unprovoked war against Iran. He said Washington must change its conduct, abandon its coercive policies and take concrete steps to fulfill its commitments before its claims can be considered credible by Tehran.
The parliament speaker emphasized that Iran has transformed into an independent and powerful regional force, unlike the country under the former monarchy, when foreign powers exerted considerable influence over its domestic affairs. He maintained that Iran would no longer allow outside powers to determine its national future.
Ghalibaf also commemorated the anniversary of a protest by the Islamic Republic’s founder, Imam Khomeini, against legislation granting American military personnel immunity from prosecution in Iran. He said the episode exposed Washington’s efforts to undermine Iran’s sovereignty, adding that current US sanctions, assassinations and military and economic pressure reflect the continuation of the same policy of domination.
