ALWAGHT- A senior security official said Wednesday that Iran is fully prepared for a large-scale conflict spanning multiple fronts as regional tensions intensify.
A senior Iranian security official said Tehran has made a firm decision to respond without restraint to any renewed aggression or assassination campaign. The official warned that Iran’s armed forces are prepared to strike targets and interests belonging to the attackers and their regional supporters, arguing that the United States and Israel would act jointly in any new conflict against Iran.
The official also said threats from Washington and Tel Aviv provide justification for Iran to take defensive measures, amid growing regional tensions and concerns about further military action. Iranian military and security officials have repeatedly warned that another attack would put US interests across the region at risk.
Meanwhile, senior Iranian officials have ruled out negotiations with Washington until it meets Tehran’s conditions. Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei said the United States must first rebuild trust, while Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stressed that a lasting ceasefire depends on Washington fulfilling Iran’s demands. Under the proposed 14-point Islamabad memorandum, the United States would end hostilities on all fronts and lift its blockade and sanctions in exchange for Iran’s gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
