ALWAGHT- Abbas Araghchi said Iran is ready for meaningful US negotiations grounded in equality and respect, if the US ends its coercive and hegemonic approach.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated in an interview that the core issue between Iran and the US lies in Washington’s hegemonic behavior, which Iran continues to resist. He noted that while tensions persist, they can be managed without unnecessary costs, and that constructive engagement is possible if the US abandons its domineering approach.
Araghchi emphasized that Iran does not respond to force, pressure, or sanctions, but will respond to respect and dignity if approached properly. He highlighted that despite Iran’s sincere efforts at dialogue, past interactions with the US have not produced positive results, leaving Tehran cautious and distrustful, though still open to careful engagement.
The foreign minister reiterated that Iran is ready for serious, equal-footing negotiations aimed at balanced, mutually beneficial agreements. He stressed that Iran will never compromise on its people’s rights or tolerate coercion, but remains willing to pursue rational and wise solutions if the US engages sincerely and respectfully.
