ALWAGHT- Venezuela’s court-appointed acting president said the abduction of President Nicolás Maduro shows what she described as “Zionist” characteristics.
Following a US military attack on Caracas early Saturday that reportedly resulted in the abduction of President Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela’s Supreme Court appointed Vice President Delcy Rodríguez as interim president to ensure administrative continuity and establish a National Defense Council.
Rodríguez condemned the operation as an unprecedented act of US military aggression, alleging it involved more than 150 aircraft and was driven by Washington’s efforts to overthrow Maduro’s government and gain control over Venezuela’s oil resources. She demanded the immediate release of Maduro and his wife, who were reportedly transferred to a detention facility in New York.
In a televised address, Rodríguez insisted that Maduro remains Venezuela’s sole legitimate president, denounced the attack as bearing a “Zionist tint,” and announced the full deployment of the armed forces to defend national sovereignty, declaring that Venezuela would not submit to foreign domination.
