Yemen Launches a Fresh Missile Attack, Triggering Sirens in Israeli-occupied Areas

ALWAGHT- Following the launch of a ballistic missile by Yemen’s Armed Forces toward the occupying Zionist entity, air raid sirens sounded across multiple locations in the Israeli-occupied territories as retaliation for the regime’s continued genocidal war on Palestinians in Gaza.

A ballistic missile launched by Yemen’s Armed Forces triggered air raid sirens in southern Israeli-occupied territories, including Beersheba and Dimona, on Saturday morning. The Israeli military reported that its anti-air defense systems intercepted the missile, and there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage. The Houthis claimed responsibility for targeting a "sensitive Israeli enemy target" in Beersheba with a Dhu al-Fiqar ballistic missile, stating the attack was retaliation for Israel’s ongoing actions against Palestinians in Gaza.

Since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas conflict in October 2023, Ansarullah have launched hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones at Israeli-occupied areas as part of their military campaign in solidarity with Gaza. Their leader, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, emphasized that these operations, including 25 missile and drone launches this month alone, are aimed at supporting Gaza and enforcing a strategic blockade of the Red Sea to disrupt Israeli-related maritime traffic. The Houthis have vowed to continue their attacks until Israel ceases its ground and aerial offensives in Gaza, where tens of thousands of Palestinians have been killed since the conflict began.

Israel has responded with retaliatory strikes against Houthi-controlled sites in Yemen, including ports and airports, and has maintained robust missile defense systems to intercept incoming attacks. The ongoing missile exchanges have caused no significant casualties but have heightened regional tensions. Yemen’s Armed Forces missile campaign serves as both a military and political message against Israel and its allies, underscoring the broader regional conflict dynamics linked to the Gaza war.
