ALWAGHT- Iran’s air defense units have downed another fifth-generation F-35 fighter jet of the Israeli regime amid ongoing hostilities between Tehran and Tel Aviv.
The Iranian Army’s Public Relations Office announced that its air defense forces have successfully shot down another Israeli F-35 fighter jet over western Iran, with the pilot’s fate currently unknown and under investigation. This follows the previous day’s downing of two additional F-35 jets and multiple Israeli drones during an early morning attack that killed several high-ranking Iranian military officials, nuclear scientists, and civilians.
The F-35 jets used by Israel are among the most advanced stealth fighters globally, acquired primarily from the United States. Israel’s customized variant, the F-35I, is designed for deep penetration missions with enhanced radar evasion capabilities, making it a critical asset for the Israeli military’s operations.
These jets were delivered under the US Foreign Military Sales program, with the first units arriving in Israel around 2016. The ongoing conflict between Tehran and Tel Aviv has seen these advanced aircraft deployed in aggressive strikes against Iranian targets, escalating tensions and military confrontations in the region.
