ALWAGHT- The Iranian foreign minister informed his Saudi counterpart about the recent indirect talks between Iran and the US, which took place in Oman.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan held a phone call on Monday to discuss regional and international issues, as well as bilateral relations. During the conversation, Araghchi shared updates on recent indirect negotiations between Iran and the US held in Muscat, and noted that the next round of talks will take place in a European country, again with Oman acting as mediator.
The Saudi foreign minister expressed appreciation for the update and welcomed the ongoing dialogue between Iran and the US. He voiced hope that the negotiations would yield positive outcomes for regional stability and cooperation.
The Iran-US talks, mediated by Oman's foreign minister, began on April 12 in Muscat, with both delegations—led by Araghchi and US envoy Steve Witkoff—reporting satisfaction with initial progress. The next round of talks is scheduled for April 19.
