US Halts Funding for New Weapon Sales to Ukraine

ALWAGHT- According to unnamed sources cited by the Wall Street Journal, the US has paused funding for any new arms sales to Ukraine.

The US has reportedly halted funding for new weapons sales to Ukraine and is considering freezing arms shipments from US stockpiles, according to the Wall Street Journal. This move comes amid ongoing discussions within the US government, with sources indicating that President Trump will hold a meeting to discuss the future of military aid to Ukraine.

During the meeting, key officials such as Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz are expected to consider halting arms deliveries, intelligence sharing, and training for Ukrainian forces. The potential suspension of US military support comes as tensions rise regarding the long-term commitment to the conflict in Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Zelensky expressed confidence in maintaining US support despite recent disagreements, but Trump criticized Zelensky's stance, claiming that the Ukrainian leader does not seek peace as long as he has US backing. US officials, including Waltz, have stated that the American people’s patience and resources are limited, with growing calls for Ukraine to pursue peace negotiations with Russia to continue receiving aid.
