ALWAGHT- A senior Iranian commander has stated that the country's armed forces will conduct "powerful" and comprehensive military drills involving both the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
Major General Gholam-Ali Rashid, the commander of Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, announced that the Iranian Armed Forces will conduct powerful defensive and offensive military drills in the coming days and weeks. These maneuvers will involve both the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and will span various terrains, airspace, and waters across Iran.
Rashid emphasized that these joint drills, which occur particularly in the second half of the Persian calendar year, are crucial for testing and enhancing the country's defense capabilities. The drills deploy a wide range of military hardware aimed at preparing for potential threats and ensuring readiness against adversaries. The Headquarters overseeing these exercises ensures their optimal execution and directs about 30 major maneuvers annually.
The commander stressed that these military exercises are vital for maintaining both defensive and offensive preparedness, as they aim to surprise and outmaneuver any potential enemy. He pointed out that the recent Operation True Promise II demonstrated only a small portion of Iran's offensive capability, particularly highlighting successful ballistic missile strikes on military sites in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Rashid reiterated that according to Iran's defensive doctrine, the country does not initiate wars in the region but is always prepared to confront any threat. These upcoming drills will be part of Iran’s efforts to maintain a high level of readiness to defend itself against any aggression.
