ALWAGHT- The Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly denounced the Israeli regime's deadly military strikes on the Red Sea port city of Hudaydah in Yemen.
In a statement on Saturday night, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani condemned the Israeli attacks, stating that the oppressed but resilient people of Yemen are suffering because of their noble support for the innocent people of Gaza, including women and children.
He remarked that the attacks, which resulted in the destruction of civilian infrastructure in Hudaydah and the martyrdom and injury of many Yemenis, reveal the savage nature of the child-killing Israeli regime.
Kanaani further warned of the risk of escalating tensions and the spread of conflict across the region due to the Zionists' dangerous adventurism.
He also identified the continuous killing and total siege of the defenseless residents of the Gaza Strip as the root cause of the current regional tensions, as reported by the Foreign Ministry's website.
Peace will not return to West Asia as long as the Zionist regime's aggression in Palestine, especially the Gaza Strip, continues, Kanaani asserted.
Kanaani emphasized that the Zionist regime and its supporters, including the US government, bear direct responsibility for the dangerous and unpredictable consequences of the ongoing crimes in Gaza and the attacks on Yemen.
The Yemeni Ministry of Health reported that three people were killed and 87 wounded, many with severe burns, due to the Israeli strikes.
The air raids on Saturday occurred a day after Yemeni forces claimed responsibility for a drone attack that killed one person and injured 10 others in Tel Aviv.
