Iranian and Turkish Foreign Ministers Review Current Developments in Gaza

ALWAGHT- Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had a phone conversation with acting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip and the potential risk of escalation affecting Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq.

Diplomatic sources indicated that the discussion between Fidan and Bagheri focused on the latest developments in Gaza and evaluated the risk of violence spreading throughout the region.

The ministers also addressed the fight against terrorism and explored bilateral relations in economic and transportation sectors.

Fidan expressed concerns that rising tensions in Lebanon could have negative repercussions for Iraq and Syria.

Bagheri remarked that threats from the Zionist regime toward Lebanon are an extension of its brutality in Gaza, emphasizing the regime's cruel nature. He noted that Lebanon's resistance is prepared to counter these threats, ensuring that any aggression will be met with significant consequences for the aggressors.

Bagheri cautioned that, similar to the Israelis' inability to restore the situation to its pre-October 7 state after nine months, any new misstep in Lebanon will result in regional conditions unfavorable to the Zionists.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan expressed gratitude to Iran for its focus on the Palestinian issue and condemned Israel's actions against the people of Gaza. He asserted that the Zionist regime's policy of escalating tension across the region will significantly impact other countries.

Fidan also emphasized the importance of leveraging the capabilities of regional organizations like D-8 in addressing the Palestinian issue. He highlighted the critical role of cooperation between Tehran and Ankara in ensuring regional security and stability.
