Iranian President Set to Participate in BRICS Summit in Russia

ALWAGHT- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will participate in the 2024 BRICS Summit in Russia this October.

The first BRICS summit since the organization's expansion will take place in Kazan, Russia, from October 22 to 24. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will attend the event at the formal invitation of the Kremlin.

Iran’s Consul in Kazan, Davoud Mirzakhani, has met with the assistant to the president of the Republic of Tatarstan in preparation for the summit.

This year, Russia holds the rotating BRICS presidency. At the start of 2024, Iran, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia officially joined BRICS as full members. Originally founded in 2006 with Brazil, Russia, India, and China, the organization expanded to include South Africa in 2011.
