ALWAGHT- Iran is preparing to develop missiles with greater range and higher speeds following its recent conflict with the United States, according to Army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia.
Iranian Army spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia said Tehran has begun work to extend the range and increase the speed of its missiles, citing the presence of US forces up to about 1,000 kilometers from Iran’s coastline. He said the need for longer-range missiles became clear during the recent conflict with the United States.
The remarks come amid heightened US economic pressure and ongoing diplomatic efforts to end the conflict. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Washington had submitted proposals through mediators, while stressing that Tehran would continue negotiations alongside military preparedness.
Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Iran’s seven-day proposal did not address the nuclear issue or link IAEA inspections to sanctions relief. He said Tehran is currently reviewing the US position delivered through Qatari mediation.
