ALWAGHT- A ScheerPost analysis contends that Saudi Arabia and Israel are expanding discreet military ties in their efforts to counter Yemen’s Armed Forces, citing alleged intelligence exchanges, unofficial channels of communication, and sectarian narratives as evidence of closer coordination.
The ScheerPost analysis says Saudi Arabia and Israel are expanding covert military cooperation against Yemen, including intelligence sharing and private military contacts. It links the coordination to efforts to counter Yemen’s Armed Forces and protect Saudi and Israeli interests in the Red Sea.
According to the analysis, Israeli intelligence has reportedly helped Saudi Arabia develop targets in Yemen, while Saudi and Israeli military officials have discussed Yemen and Iran at private US-organized meetings. These contacts are described as evidence of growing strategic cooperation despite the lack of formal Saudi-Israeli diplomatic relations.
The report also highlights Saudi airstrikes on civilian areas in Yemen, including markets, food storage facilities and residential buildings. It says Yemen’s advances along the western coast, particularly around the Bab al-Mandab Strait, have increased concerns in Riyadh and Tel Aviv over their strategic interests in the region.
Finally, the analysis accuses Saudi-linked clerics and media outlets of using sectarian rhetoric to rally support for the war. ScheerPost argues that this messaging, alongside military coordination, helps frame the conflict as a sectarian struggle while advancing broader Saudi and Israeli strategic objectives.
