Britain Halts Dozens of Additional Weapons Export Permits For ‘Israel’ While Keeping F-35 Deal in Place

ALWAGHT- Britain has halted or rejected 80 export licenses associated with Israeli military activity in Gaza and imposed curbs on exports linked to the occupation.

Britain has suspended or rejected more than 80 export licences involving equipment that could be used by Israeli forces in Gaza, amid growing scrutiny of its military support and new restrictions related to the occupation of Palestinian territory.

The figure includes around 30 licences suspended in September 2024 and more than 50 subsequent applications rejected. The British government, however, says the additional refusals were decisions made under existing Gaza-related restrictions rather than an expansion of the arms ban.

New rules also require export applications to be assessed on whether goods could materially contribute to the occupation of Palestinian territory. The government described this as a “double lock” alongside existing criteria concerning potential violations of international humanitarian law.

Despite the restrictions, Britain continues to supply components for the international F-35 spare-parts programme, citing security concerns. The policy has drawn criticism from some British lawmakers, while tensions between London and “Israel” have also intensified over measures targeting settlements.
