ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Minister emphasizes diplomacy as the only solution to nuclear program concerns, noting he is likely to meet US negotiator Steve Witkoff in Geneva on Thursday.
Iranian negotiator Abbas Araghchi said the Iranian team is preparing a framework draft for a potential agreement on the country’s nuclear program and is expected to meet US negotiator Steve Witkoff in Geneva on Thursday. He emphasized that diplomacy remains the only way to resolve issues and expressed optimism that a win-win solution is achievable.
Araghchi noted that any military build-up would not aid negotiations and that the draft proposal is still being developed to address the concerns of both sides. He said the upcoming Geneva meeting could finalize key elements and pave the way for a swift agreement.
He also highlighted Iran’s right to uranium enrichment and the peaceful nature of its nuclear program, stating that Tehran seeks a better deal than the 2015 JCPOA while maintaining its nuclear rights, even amid previous US restrictions on enrichment.
