ALWAGHT- Rear Admiral Tangsiri, commander of Iran’s IRGC Navy, stated that Iran is ready to close the Strait of Hormuz whenever ordered by senior officials.
Rear Admiral Tangsiri, overseeing the IRGC Navy’s “Smart Control of the Strait of Hormuz” exercise, emphasized that any decision to close the strategic waterway rests with Iran’s top authorities. He added that the Navy is fully prepared to carry out such orders and noted that wartime weaponry differs from those used in drills.
The exercise’s second phase involved the IRGC Navy’s combat and rapid-reaction units, temporarily suspending traffic through the strait to ensure safe maritime operations. Various defensive and offensive systems were employed, with military experts reporting highly precise strikes on designated targets.
During the drills, super-fast missile-launching vessels conducted missile operations from inland and coastal positions, while drone units carried out offensive and reconnaissance missions in signal-jamming conditions, successfully hitting both stationary and moving targets in the Strait of Hormuz.
