Tehran Vows Strong Retaliation in Response to Trump’s Threat of Aggression

ALWAGHT- Masoud Pezeshkian, Iran’s president, responds firmly to Trump’s renewed strike threat, pledging severe retaliation against any future aggression.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that any aggression against the country will be met with a severe and “regret-inducing” response. His statement came after US President Donald Trump, speaking alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, threatened to “eradicate” Iran’s nuclear program and missile development, claiming a future attack could be even more powerful than previous strikes.

Trump’s remarks marked the first explicit US threat against Iran’s conventional missile program, which Tehran maintains is a core element of its national defense. The June US-Israeli strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites were justified by Trump with unverified claims that Iran could develop nuclear weapons within two months, despite repeated confirmations by the IAEA and Iranian authorities that the program is peaceful.

Ali Shamkhani, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, echoed Pezeshkian’s warning, stating that any miscalculation by aggressors would provoke an immediate and harsh response. He emphasized that Iran’s missile capabilities are non-negotiable and essential for deterrence in a region heavily militarized by the US and Western-backed forces. Tehran has rejected demands to limit missile ranges or dismantle nuclear infrastructure, citing violations of the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

International reactions included a call from Russia to avoid escalation and prioritize dialogue with Iran. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed the importance of refraining from provocative actions and pursuing diplomatic engagement to prevent further tensions in the region.
