ALWAGHT- Israeli forces continue airstrikes and shelling across Gaza, civilian death toll rises 81 days after ceasefire.
Eighty-one days after the ceasefire, Israeli military operations continue across the Gaza Strip, including airstrikes on al-Maghazi camp and Beit Lahia, artillery shelling in Khan Younis and Rafah, and demolitions in eastern Gaza City. Local reports also cited the detonation of an explosive-laden armored vehicle and the destruction of residential buildings, underscoring ongoing violations despite the truce.
Civilian casualties have continued to rise amid both military action and severe winter conditions. Over the past 48 hours, hospitals received one body recovered from rubble and treated three injured civilians, while separate incidents included a fatal wall collapse and the death of a two-month-old infant from hypothermia. Since the ceasefire began on October 11, 2025, at least 414 Palestinians have been killed and 1,145 injured, contributing to an overall toll of more than 71,000 dead since October 2023.
Humanitarian agencies warn that widespread destruction, restrictions on aid entry, and harsh weather are compounding civilian suffering. Thousands remain without adequate shelter, fuel, or winter supplies, while health officials caution that additional victims remain trapped under debris or unreachable. Gaza’s Health Ministry has warned that deaths will continue unless military operations cease and full humanitarian access is restored.
