ALWAGHT- Israel continues to violate the ceasefire in Lebanon without facing consequences.
Israeli forces renewed airstrikes on southern and eastern Lebanon on Saturday, targeting multiple areas in the Bekaa and southern regions, including Tarayya, Shmestar, Jabal al-Rafee, Sojod, and Kfar Hamam. Consecutive waves of strikes hit highlands and wooded areas, while drones targeted vehicles and towns, including Maroun al-Ras and Zawtar al-Sharqiya, causing casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported several fatalities and injuries, including a municipal council member killed in Wadi al-Salouqi and multiple civilians wounded by drone-dropped sonic bombs in Shaqra. Earlier attacks in southern Lebanon also resulted in civilian deaths, highlighting the ongoing human toll of the strikes.
These attacks follow a recent pattern of Israeli violations of the November 27, 2024 ceasefire, including airstrikes on civilian homes, refugee camps, and vehicles. Notable incidents include the November 18 attack on Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp that killed 14 civilians and the targeting of a school principal in Mansouri on November 17. Drone and tank strikes against civilian and UN positions have also been reported.
Over the past days, Israeli operations have intensified across southern and eastern Lebanon, often preceded by evacuation warnings to villages such as Ainatha, Tayr Felsay, Shhour, and Deir Kifa. These repeated strikes underscore a continued pattern of aggression and breaches of the ceasefire agreement, worsening civilian suffering and regional tensions.
