ALWAGHT- Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said that Iran’s resilience will withstand external economic pressure.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani said that Western attempts to weaken Iran through economic pressure will fail, emphasizing that the nation’s resilience, faith, and resistance will see it through. Speaking in Tehran, he criticized Western demands during negotiations, particularly the attempt to limit Iran’s missile range to under 500 km, which he said threatened the country’s national security.
Larijani also rejected the legality of the so-called snapback mechanism triggered by France, Germany, and the UK, calling it “null and void.” He highlighted that with the expiration of UN Security Council Resolution 2231, Iran’s nuclear program should now be treated like any other non-nuclear-weapon state under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Despite years of economic pressure, especially following the US withdrawal from the JCPOA in 2018 and the re-imposition of sanctions, Iran has sought to adapt. The country has boosted domestic production, pursued non-dollar trade, and strengthened economic ties with Asian and regional partners to maintain resilience and stability.
