ALWAGHT- The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said President Masoud Pezeshkian’s recent message to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman focused solely on bilateral cooperation and was unrelated to the crown prince’s trip to the United States.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Esmaeil Baghaei dismissed the US president’s recent claims about alleged negotiations between Tehran and Washington, stating that “no negotiation process currently exists between Iran and the US.” He cited Washington’s history of violations and excessive demands, saying there is “no logical basis” for talks with a party that rejects reciprocity, boasts about unlawful military actions against Iran—including the killing of Iranian children—and seeks to impose its terms.
Regarding President Pezeshkian’s message to the Saudi crown prince, Baghaei said it was delivered through Iran’s new head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and dealt exclusively with bilateral matters. The message, he added, expressed Iran’s gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s services to Iranian pilgrims during last year’s Hajj and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and coordination for this year’s pilgrimage.
