Araghchi Reiterates Iran’s Backing for Lebanon in Beirut Visit

ALWAGHT- Iran remains firmly behind Lebanon in confronting Israeli occupation, declared Deputy FM Araghchi, underscoring Tehran's support for Lebanese sovereignty and the importance of robust Iran-Lebanon relations.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated Tehran’s steadfast support for Lebanon against Israeli aggression during a press conference at Beirut’s Rafik Hariri International Airport. He emphasized Iran’s long-standing commitment to Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stating, "We have always supported Lebanon’s sovereignty and will continue to do so in these challenging times." Araghchi also underscored the deep historical ties between Iran and Lebanon, expressing Tehran’s determination to further strengthen bilateral relations. His visit is part of a broader regional tour aimed at enhancing Iran’s diplomatic engagements.

Earlier in Cairo, Araghchi met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, where both officials welcomed growing diplomatic exchanges between Iran and Egypt. Araghchi stressed the need for unified action among Islamic nations to counter Israeli occupation and halt atrocities in Gaza, while also preventing further escalation in Lebanon and Syria. He condemned the ongoing massacres in Gaza, describing the Palestinian people’s suffering as a direct consequence of Israeli aggression.

President el-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s commitment to continued coordination with Iran, grounded in mutual interests and respect. He reiterated Cairo’s efforts to end the genocide in Gaza and promote regional de-escalation to achieve stability. The discussions highlighted a shared focus on diplomatic solutions, even as both nations navigate complex regional dynamics. Araghchi’s tour reflects Iran’s push for stronger alliances amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.
