ALWAGHT- The Iranian Parliament Speaker praised Cuba as an independent ally, noting that the two countries share common objectives, friends, and adversaries.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf arrived in Cuba on Tuesday as part of a Latin American tour that began in Venezuela. During a meeting with Cuban officials, he emphasized the importance of leveraging shared resources to counter unilateral policies imposed by adversaries. Qalibaf stated that Iran and Cuba share common objectives, allies, and opponents, framing their partnership as a united front against external pressures.
Praising Cuba as a sovereign and friendly nation, Qalibaf argued that freedom and independence require resilience, as global powers often resort to oppression and injustice. He proposed that Iran and Cuba exchange expertise to strengthen their economies and mitigate the impact of sanctions. The visit highlights efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation amid ongoing geopolitical challenges.
After Cuba, Qalibaf will travel to Brazil to attend the BRICS Parliamentary Forum, held from June 3-5 in Brasilia. The forum provides another platform for Iran to bolster ties with emerging economies, reinforcing its strategy of forming alliances to counter Western influence.
