Russia Commemorates 70th Years of Victory Day, 27 World Leaders Attended

Alwaght- Russia is commemorating 70th anniversary of 9 May or victory day over Germany as opposed to 8 May in Western Europe.

27 world leaders including China, India, Venezuela, Egypt, Cuba, and Zimbabwe have attended the parade while many Western leaders have boycotted it due to their differences with Russia over Ukraine crisis.

Paying tribute to those who died in the WWII, Russia showcased Newest Military Technology and troops.

An estimated 200 pieces of armored vehicles including intercontinental ballistic missile carriers, 16,500 troops and 150 planes and helicopters filed past the Kremlin.

Regarding the Soviet Union great suffer during the World War Two- Soviet Union has lost up to 24 million civilian and military casualties in WWII- the scale of the celebration is unsurprising:

The Soviet government announced the victory early on 9 May after the signing ceremony in Berlin in 1945. Victory Day is a public holiday in Russia, marked by large parades and firework displays in cities across the country.
