Alwaght- Leader of the ISIS terrorist group Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has fled the Iraqi city of Mosul as the national army closes in on the city.
The terrorist leader has left the city among a convoy of 150 civilians to be used a shield against possible attacks, al-Alam news channel cited intelligence sources as saying on Tuesday.
Some sources had previously reported he may have fled the city trough underground tunnels that Iraqi army forces uncovered around Mosul.
The reports surface as some units of Iraqi Special Forces enter the main lands of Mosul city and clash with ISIS terrorists in southern districts.
The Iraqi army along with volunteer forces and Peshmerga has launched a comprehensive operation to liberate Mosul from ISIS, on 17 October. The forces have closed in on the mainland of the Mosul while some units of the Special Forces have entered the city itself.
The city is considered the last stronghold for ISIS and liberating it could mean a victory over the terrorist group in Iraq.
