Alwaght- Israeli regime's minister for war affairs Avigdor Lieberman threatened on Monday that next war with the besieged Gazans would be their last "because we will completely destroy them".
"If they impose the next war on Israel, it will be their last. I would like to emphasise again: It will be their last confrontation because we will completely destroy them," Avigdor Lieberman said in an interview with Palestinian newspaper al-Quds.
The comments of warmonger Israeli minister can be deemed as a tactic to put more pressure on Hamas to disarm the resistance movement that runs the Gaza Strip.
Lieberman’s extremism is well known. He frequently calls for loyalty oaths of “Israeli Arabs,” as Palestinians are known in Israel. And in the face of the Arab “demographic threat,” he has repeatedly advocated “transfer” of those Palestinians out of Israel and into the West Bank – choosing the state’s Jewishness over democracy.
“Those who are against us, there’s nothing to be done – we need to pick up an ax and cut off his head,” said Libeman when he was serving as regime's foreign minister, implying that “Otherwise we won’t survive here.”
The security-minded Israeli official has already made a series of threats directed at Ismail Haniya, Hamas leader, before taking up his new post.
In his interview with al-Quds newspaper, Liberman also claimed that Hamas has invested over half a billion dollars in military infrastructure in Gaza in recent years, while the populated enclave has been under a tight Israeli siege since June 2007.
The comments have sparked outrage on Palestinian social media platforms, particularly among those supportive of Hamas, with critics sending messages blasting the ‘media normalization’ of Israeli policy in the decision to interview the hawkish Israeli minister, whom they dubbed a “murderer.”
