Alwaght- Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) discovered and destroyed the ISIS terrorist group’s telecommunication network.
The PMF also known as Hashd al-Shaabi is consisted of prto-governmentarmed units of volunteer fighters that participate in Iraqi army's anti-ISIS operations.
The network was active in the central-northern province of Salahuddin where the forces found a collection of devices designed for long-distance communication, huge wireless sets and their batteries, in the recently-liberated city of Sharqat on Friday.
The Iraqi al-Masalah news website reported subtly camouflaged systems were used by terrorists to make contact with other members of the terror group in Mosul, ISIS de facto capital in Iraq, and Hawijah in Kirkuk province, among other places.
Iraqi forces took full control of Sharqat on September 22, and raised the national Iraqi flag over government buildings, two years after the city fell to ISIS in 2014.
