Alwaght – Bahraini regime was made to postpone the trial session of country's opposition leader after the prominent cleric's followers took to the streets in a bug demonstration on Thursday.
Manama has accused Sheikh Isa Qassim, Bahraini opposition leader, of accumulation of unlawful assets and money laundering based on religious payments his followers pay.
The first session of the trial was held despite the absence of Sheikh Qassim and some others of the accused opposition figures.
Sheikh Isa Qassim was a founding member of the country's Constitution but the ruling monarchy revoked his Bahraini citizenship after the peaceful pro-democracy demonstrations in the country.
This is the second time that the country’s spiritual leader’s trial is being postponed after a great number of his followers demonstrate on the eve of the trial.
