Alwaght- ISIS terrorists’ second commander was killed in an operation conducted by Iraq Army forces at country’s eastern province of Diyala.
Hisham Nassif Jassem al-Hayyali, a senior assistant to ISIS terror group’s leader, was killed during an ambush in the Abu Sayda region located to the province’s north, according to the statement of Iraqi Defense Ministry released on Saturday.
“Troops of the First Battalion of the Twentieth Infantry Brigade, under the control of the command of the Tiger operations, succeeded in eliminating criminal Hashem Nasseef Jassem Al-Hayali, assistant to terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, in the Al-Muhith district of Abu Sayda in northern Diyala province,” the statement reads.
The northern and western parts of Iraq have been plagued by gruesome violence ever since Daesh began a campaign of terror in the country in June 2014, when they overran Mosul and declared it their so-called headquarters in Iraq.
Daesh terrorists have gained notoriety for their barbarity, heinous atrocities and sacrilegious acts. The militants have been accused of committing gross human rights violations and war crimes in the areas they control in Iraq as well as in neighboring Syria.
