Iran “Helpful” in Fighting against Terror Groups in Iraq: John Kerry

Alwaght- US Secretary of State John Kerry surprisingly admits that the Islamic Republic of Iran is “helpful” in fighting against terror group in Iraq.

Despite ongoing strained Iran-US relations, when asked whether Iran’s influence in Iraq was “more helpful or more harmful” at the Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado, Kerry gave an unexpected response:

"Look, we have challenges with Iran as everybody knows and we are working on those challenges,” Kerry told reporters. “But I can tell you that Iran in Iraq has been in certain ways helpful, and they clearly are focused on ISIS and so we have a common interest, actually,” he added, according to RT.

This was accompanied by an assessment from Brent McGurk, the US envoy for the war against ISIS, who conceded that Iran’s role in Iraq was positive.

ISIS terrorist group's power has been diminished in Iraq, particularly in the Anbar province, where a coordinated effort by Iraqi army and Popular Mobilization Forces, mostly Shiite militia force, has weakened it.

Iran has repeatedly accused US of dividing terrorists into bad and good ones, saying that US double standard towards militants in Syria and Iraq is an obstacle to eradicate terror from these West Asian countries.

Tehran emphasizes that the only solution to the crises in region is cutting financial and militarysupports for the terrorist groups by countries that benefits the crisis.
