Iranian Forces Strike US Base in UAE Following Attack on Larak Island

ALWAGHT- Iran says its forces targeted the US military base at Al Minhad in the UAE and brought down a US MQ-9 drone in retaliation for Washington’s attack on Larak Island.

The Iranian Army said Monday that it targeted US military positions at Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE with suicide drones, calling the strike retaliation for a US attack on Larak Island in southern Iran. The reported targets included positions housing US personnel and helicopters.

Iranian forces also claimed to have shot down a US MQ-9 drone over the Strait of Hormuz using air-defense missiles. The incident took place near Larak Island, a strategically important location close to the waterway’s narrowest point.

The IRGC separately said it launched a combined ballistic missile and drone attack on the US-operated King Hussein and Al-Azraq bases in Jordan. It claimed the strikes caused heavy damage and warned that further US attacks on Iran would trigger stronger retaliation.

Tehran has framed the operations as part of a broader strategy to impose costs on US military infrastructure across the region. Iranian officials have emphasized Larak Island’s strategic importance, citing its proximity to major shipping routes and maritime surveillance facilities.
