ALWAGHT- EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas stated that the European Union backs a political and diplomatic solution between Iran and the United States.
She stated that the EU supports a diplomatic resolution and remains engaged with countries facilitating mediation between the two sides.
On the matter of vessel transit through the Strait of Hormuz, the EU foreign policy chief noted that the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran had disrupted shipping in the strategic waterway. This disruption, she emphasized, created an imbalance in the global supply chain for fuel, energy, and numerous other goods—including petrochemical products and chemical fertilizers.
Kallas also stressed that Iran has declared its readiness to secure shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, provided that a lasting ceasefire is achieved and the war ends, while also observing required protocols and security considerations.
