ALWAGHT- A recent survey by YouGov shows that more than half (57%) of US citizens disapprove of President Trump's handling of the Iran situation, with only 35% expressing approval—indicating a high level of polarization in American society on this issue.
The latest YouGov poll indicates deep partisan and identity-based fractures within the American public ahead of potential military action against Iran. Only 22% of respondents believe the situation in their country is "under control," with 63% stating conditions have "spun out of control."
Regarding support for military action against Iran, only 32% expressed approval; however, there is a significant partisan divide: Trump voters (72%), Republicans (69%), and Independents (22%) favor action, while Democrats (7%) oppose it.
On Donald Trump's handling of the Iran file, 57% disapprove, and 35% approve; the evaluation of his approach is intertwined with opinions about him as a president. In contrast, the two-week temporary ceasefire has received a positive reception, with 63% of citizens believing it was the correct decision (27% strongly approve, 37% somewhat approve). This suggests a broader desire within American society for de-escalation and a pause in conflict. These findings underscore that the US public is hesitant about war, distrustful of its own political establishment, and receptive to diplomatic pauses.
