Iran Threatens Harsher Strikes on US Warships Amid Continued Aggression

ALWAGHT- Iran’s top operational command has warned the US military that continued aggression in the region will prompt the Iranian armed forces to deliver “more severe and extensive” strikes against American warships.

Lieutenant-Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesman for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, warned that Iranian forces would respond more forcefully if the United States continued what he described as aggression, harassment of Iranian vessels, or a naval blockade.

Zolfaqari said US military vessels in the region would face “more severe” attacks if Washington persisted with such actions. He added that Iran could broaden the scope of its military response if US measures against the country continued.

His remarks followed a US Central Command announcement that American forces had struck three Iranian crude oil tankers in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. CENTCOM identified two of the vessels as M/T Downy and M/T Stark 1, while saying a third tanker, M/T Kylo, also known as Noxen, was hit multiple times after its crew was ordered to abandon ship.
